Pregnancy Care
Nurture and Bloom
Pregnancy is a time of wonder and change, mystery and challenge, joy and fulfillment. It’s a precious time in which the support and care you give yourself are important for you and your growing baby; physically, emotionally and spiritually. Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine provide a nurturing, mother-centered, and harmonious way to support yourself before, during, and after pregnancy, birth, and beyond. They offer a safe, gentle, and deeply relaxing way to promote optimum health throughout your pregnancy and ultimately can form the foundation of a life-long partnership in health for the whole family.
Acupuncture has been used in Asia for thousands of years as a means to promote and support female reproductive health. Acupuncture treatments have evolved as part of a larger commitment to having healthy babies – both as a means to help a couple successfully conceive as well as go on to have a healthy pregnancy and uncomplicated delivery. Deeply relaxing Acupuncture treatments, working in tandem with personalized diet and lifestyle recommendations, bolster and support the body’s natural healing capacity in all stages of the pregnancy. This can help build the nurturing foundation of good health and connectedness desired on the path towards parenthood.
Acupuncture can be of tremendous benefit over the entire course of pregnancy to enhance your health as well as your baby’s health.

For a healthy pregnancy, treatment is typically recommended on a monthly basis until the last month at which time weekly treatments will best help prepare mother and baby for labor and delivery. Also, the postpartum time, the “Golden Month,” or first forty days after birthing, is a critical time to get care and support with Acupuncture and Moxibustion therapy to nurture the mother’s vital energy, support postpartum healing, and promote sufficient lactation. I will, however, always tailor your treatment according to your needs, goals, and concerns.
